I still have 2 more years left to march and I’m not letting anything get in the way of me marching. No matter where my corps placed this summer, a number doesn’t mean shit. Drum corps isn’t about that. It’s about the bonds you make with those that you march with and it’s about pushing yourself past what you thought was possible both physically and mentally. What the audience sees on the field is only 10% of what marching drum corps is. Once you march a full summer away from home is when you’ll really see what this activity is about. No one can take away those bonds or memories or the emotions you feel after a ¬†performance. Maybe what you see on the field today isn’t what it was 10, 20, 30 years ago, but the root of the activity remains unchanged.
